Enthusiasm among elderly, first time voters in Jammu LS seat, 42.88 % voting till 1pm
An 86-year old Raj Dulari made sure to bring along her entire family to vote at a polling station in Peer Mitha of the Jammu city.
People have not been "murdered" but "killed" in the floods, this was what Speaker Sumitra Mahajan told a Congress member during a discussion on the natural calamity in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Gaurav Gogoi of Congress said in Hindi that "750 people have been murdered (hatya hui) in the floods."
Mahajan immediately pointed out that the term should be "mrityu (death)".

Gogoi, who belongs to Assam, told the Speaker "thank you for correcting my Hindi."
He was initiating the discussion on a calling attention motion on floods.
