The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission on Tuesday took suo-moto notice and summoned the Secretary School Education Department, Punjab Government, in the matter of ignoring the reservation policy applicable to the Scheduled Castes category in the advertisement issued by the Recruitment Board of the Education Department for the posts of lecturers.

35,000 farmers await paddy procurement, BJD targets Odisha govt

Nearly 35,000 farmers in Odisha are still awaiting procurement of around 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of rabi paddy, the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) alleged on Tuesday, accusing the BJP government of failing to honour its election promises to farmers and demanding that the procurement period be extended by at least 15 days.
