With Apple’s iPad Pro and Mac event scheduled to be held on October 30, OnePlus 6T global launch has been advanced by the company to avoid a clash. OnePlus 6T will now be launched a day before, on October 29, in New York City.

There is, however, no change in the OnePlus 6T India launch date, which is October 30. The new OnePlus phone is scheduled to be launched in New Delhi at 8:30 pm at KDJW Stadium (inside Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium).

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau made the announcement on the company’s forum. His statement has been posted on the OnePlus website.

Prior to this, both Apple and OnePlus events were scheduled for October 30 in New York.

“A lot has changed in the past 24 hours. When we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced our timing would allow us to maximize the amount of people we could reach with our message. That changed when Apple announced they would be hosting their own event on October 30,” Lau said in the post.

He added: “For hours, we talked to our press contacts to gain insight into how Apple’s announcement could affect the launch of the OnePlus 6T. We received considered, honest and thoughtful feedback. They showed us that if we chose to stick to our original timeline, launching the OnePlus 6T on October 30, we would be overshadowed by Apple.”

After “deep reflection”, Lau said, the company decided to move the OnePlus 6T launch event in New York City to October 29 at 11 am EDT.

The passes for the India event cost Rs 999, and are sold out on the OnePlus website. You can pre-book an OnePlus 6T phone on Amazon India, the exclusive online sales partner for OnePlus.
