The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Examination (WBCHSE) kicked off today with more than five lakh students appearing for the board exams.
Mr Paul said that with the new system, there will be a major reshuffle in the syllabus in the primary education system.
The HS Council has informed this through a notice to all heads of institutions, students, teachers affiliated under and all academic communities.
The WBCHSE has instructed the centre in-charges/ centre secretaries and venue supervisors for higher secondary exams to instal CCTV cameras at the entry gates and confidential rooms of the centres.
The chief minister visited the school straight from her Kalighat residence house this morning, which is close to her home. She stayed there for about five minutes and talked to the students and the local residents.
Out of the total successful students, 73.2 per cent are males and 26.8 per cent are females, 27.74 per cent are from CBSE board.
The WBCHSE will commence the scrutiny process from 20 June. Students can apply for scrutiny if they are not happy with their results.
“Our government is humanitarian. So all the candidates who have enrolled for the Higher Secondary examinations have been awarded the passing marks considering the current Covid situation,” said Mahua Das, president of WBCHSE. Soon after the results were announcement agitation had broken out in several schools by the unsuccessful candidates regarding their marks.
