“The BJP is trying to dismantle Baba Saheb’s Constitution. The Congress will never allow this. From the Congress president to opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, we all stand firmly against this authoritarian BJP government,” he said.
Rai claimed that officials were pressuring BLOs to “cut votes of backward communities in the name of SIR (Special Summary Revision),” creating intense stress among field workers. “This kind of pressure and harassment is forcing teachers to take their own lives. It is deeply shameful,” he said.
Congress state president Ajay Rai on Friday visited the victim’s village and met the grieving family. He assured them of financial assistance and promised the party's full support.
Rai was speaking to the media at his residential office in Lahurabir.
Attacking the Sangh, Rai remarked, "The RSS is an army of widowers." He questioned how an unmarried RSS member could advise on family matters. His remarks came shortly after a Congress worker used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar.
Addressing a press conference at the UP Congress headquarters, Rai announced that the Congress party will contest all 11 upcoming Legislative Council seats, including both Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies, with full strength and commitment.
