Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President Ajay Rai has strongly condemned the arrest of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s son, Chaitanya Baghel, terming it an act of political vendetta by the BJP-led central government.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Mr. Rai alleged that the government is misusing central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the police to target Congress leaders and workers, in an attempt to suppress dissent against its anti-people policies.

“The arrest of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s son is part of this political revenge campaign,” Rai said.

Issuing a veiled warning to the BJP, Rai wrote, “Remember, time doesn’t remain the same forever. The Congress will not be intimidated. We will succeed in saving democracy.”
It is noteworthy that the ED arrested Chaitanya Baghel on Friday morning following a raid at the residence of Bhupesh Baghel in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, in connection with an alleged liquor scam.
Chaitanya is currently being presented before the court, while supporters of the Baghel family have staged a protest outside the courtroom.
