Raising concerns over the growing normalisation of vaping among children and adolescents, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Thursday
The case pertains to an alleged remark made by Maliwal against Punjab legislators of the Aam Aadmi Party, in which she reportedly referred to them using the expression “sheep and goats”, triggering a political controversy in the state.
Maliwal recently joined the BJP after parting ways with the Aam Aadmi Party, marking a significant shift in her political alignment. Her move followed a public fallout with AAP leadership, after which she emerged as a vocal critic of the party she once represented in the Rajya Sabha.
Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Tuesday slammed Arvind Kejriwal for his announcement to initiate Satyagraha, saying the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief is given to theatrics. She advised him to ponder over the logic behind the move before going ahead with it.
AAP’s Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia has summoned all MLAs of the party, along with block observers and heads of frontal organisations, for a meeting scheduled on April 29.
The Delhi chief minister reportedly said in an interview with a news agency that he expects a fair investigation into the matter and justice should be served.
Maliwal vowed to continue to fight until she gets justice and added that she won’t give up the fight despite being all alone.
Addressing a joint press conference alongwith BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant mentioned that he has been in Delhi for three days, participating in the campaign efforts.
Maliwal had alleged CM’s Personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar of abusing and physically assaulting her on 13th May at the CM's residence.
This comes a day after a team of Delhi Police seized a digital video recorder (DVR) from Chief Minister Kejriwal's residence in connection with the ongoing investigation in the case.
