The bench among other issues sought clarity from the poll panel officials whether the micro controller is installed in the controlling unit or the VVPAT and the flash memory of the microcontrollers in EVMs cannot be reprogrammed.
The bench of Justices Sanjiv Khana and Dipankar Datta had last week reserved its verdict on a batch of public interest litigations in the matter.
As per the causelist published on the website of the apex court, the issue is listed before a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta “for directions” on April 24.
The top court also set aside the Bombay High Court order declining the plea for the medical termination of her pregnancy.
The bench was told that such orders prohibit all kinds of assemblies, meetings and demonstrations during the duration of elections.
The way in which some vice-chancellors are removed has the appearance of arbitrariness. Certainly, there is a need for laying down a procedure broadly on the lines of that provided for removal of holders of constitutional functionaries such as judges of high courts and members of Public Service Commissions.
It further added that demonetisation was also a part of larger strategy for combating the menace of fake money, terror financing, black money and tax evasion.
It also directed the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to take steps for the general public to feed stray dogs at appropriate locations, identified and demarcated by them.
The court had postponed the matter for November 14 during the last hearing on November 8.
A bench of justices Aniruddha Bose and Vikram Nath questioned the Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, representing Centre, to file an affidavit highlighting the details of the number of medical students who have been adjusted in third countries and how the process is going there.
