In a bid to protect pilgrims from commercial exploitation and to streamline essential services, the administration has issued strict directives capping the prices of key religious offerings and standard food items, while also mandating cleanliness, food safety, and legal compliance from vendors and hoteliers.
190 doctors, 41 ambulances, and 32 health centres readied to handle the month-long spiritual influx.
Deoghar in Jharkhand becomes the focal point of the Mela. Pilgrims start arriving in waves from various parts of India, like Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and even from Nepal.
A month-long Shravani Mela today started on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima at the centuries old historic Shiva temple at Tarakeswar in West Bengal and Baba Baidyanath Dham at Deoghar.
The month-long Shravani mela will start from 17 July this year. Every year around 1.5 million pilgrims from India and abroad visit the station during the Shravani mela. We will provide the Josidih railway station with airport-like facilities.
