Trinamul Member of Parliament from the Dum Dum constituency, Prof Saugata Roy was one of the 50 senior party leaders to have been hand- picked by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to campaign in the rural areas before the panchayat elections today.
Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy on Tuesday said that only the party chief and West Bengal chief minister would be able to explain the political significance of her recent statement in which she stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not misusing central agencies.
Saugata Roy said the Modi- government is not being able to digest BJP’s defeat in Bengal polls and have been launching attacks against the TMC government ever since Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as chief minister.
The 12-member election committee discussed election manifesto which will definitely highlight the public beneficiary projects such as Swasthya Sathi which so far has benefitted more than 86 lakh people and Khadhya Sathi where more than 20 lakh people have enrolled themselves.
