Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Monday in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar.

After being sworn in as PM for the third time, Mr Modi signed his first file authorising release of the 17th instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi reflecting the commitment of the government towards farmer welfare.
The installment amount will be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday during the inauguration of the "PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022" at Indian Agricultural Research Institute here.
An annual financial benefit of Rs 6,000 is provided to eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each, under the PM-KISAN scheme.
Assam Congress President Ripun Bora claimed that the state government has also not yet been able to identify the five lakh beneficiaries under the PM-KISAN scheme from the selected list as there is no existence of these five lakh farmers.
The instalment will enable the transfer of more than Rs 19,000 crore to over 9.5 crore beneficiary farmer families.
