The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) had initially planned a grand festival to commemorate its platinum jubilee. However, in light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, mayor Goutam Deb announced today that the 75th-anniversary celebrations have been postponed.
The Prime Minister will be the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony of Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court, to be held at the High Court Campus, Jodhpur. He will also inaugurate the Rajasthan High Court Museum.
Delivering the Platinum Jubilee address at the Miranda House, Delhi University on "Role of Women in Indian Parliament", Jagdeep Dhankar said, “The role of women in Parliament is enormous.”
