Speaking to the media he wondered, “Is he (Rao) extending an olive branch to the Congress or the BJP? Let him clarify. We ran two successful coalition governments in Delhi from 2004-2009 and then again in 2009-14.”
In a post on X, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said, “You were the Home Minister when former Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s office was bugged. Does this ring a bell, Mr Chidambaram?”
Responding to Chidambaram's remarks, BJP's Malviya reminded him of an infamous incident of then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's office being bugged.
Remarks from the Congress leader came after Kumaraswamy met Shah and Nadda in the national capital.
Chidambaram tweeted, "MoD has 'absolved' itself of any deal with the NSO Group, Israel. Assuming, MoD is correct, that takes out one Ministry/Department. What about the remaining half a dozen usual suspects?"
Chidambaram demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a statement in Parliament clarifying whether there had been surveillance or not.
'When Mr Nitish Kumar declares that this will be his 'last election' he has effectively conceded defeat,' P Chidambaram said on Twitter.
