The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has introduced the SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness) Programme- a national initiative which aims to introduce and bolster the concept of ‘AI Literacy’ to students from Class 6-12 and teachers.
Job Fair/ Rozgar Mela is a part of a placement outreach strategy to fast-track the interaction between employers and job-seekers.
The jobs which are likely to be available in the Gulf are blue collar jobs, primarily in the healthcare sector and housekeeping.
The proposed amendment also aims at making it easier for the employer to get trainees. The number of apprentices now is around 2.6 lakh which the Ministry expects to increase two to three times after the Act gets amended.
