As of 31st December 2025, a total of 50,373 public health facilities across all States and Union Territories have been certified under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) – a comprehensive quality framework established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
An independent probe by the Madhya Pradesh State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) confirmed that the three cough syrup samples tested at the state laboratory were free of Diethylene Glycol (DEG) and Ethylene Glycol (EG).
Active cases stand at 0.07 per cent of the total active cases and the recovery rate is 98.74 per cent.
According to the Health Ministry's data, the total number of active cases in the country has declined to 51,314 from the earlier 53,852.
The committees are being formed in each of the 30 districts in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the centre will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
With 25,010 people testing positive for the virus and 177 deaths, Kerala remains the worst-affected state, followed by Maharashtra which recorded 4,154 new cases and 44 fatalities.
"The expert committee has recommended making pregnant women eligible to receive Covid-19 vaccines after detailed analysis," said Dr Vandana Gurnani, Additional Secretary & Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), while addressing a virtual session.
In addition, the Central government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the states and the UTs.
