The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested a Security Inspector posted in the Orient Area of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) at Brajarajnagar in Odisha's Jharsuguda district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from an employee.
The coal linkage under these agreements will play a crucial role in ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted fuel supply to key thermal power stations, enabling reliable power generation and strengthening the nation’s energy security.
The drill was conducted jointly by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and the Mine Rescue Team from Mines Rescue Station, Orient Area, focusing specifically on handling water-related emergencies in mining operations.
The initiative, conceptualised by Women in Public Sector–MCL, focuses on skill development, leadership orientation, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking, enabling women to excel in both professional and personal domains.
MCL received Special Recognition under Special Campaign 5.0 for its notable efforts in promoting cleanliness, enhancing public awareness, and ensuring efficient disposal of pending matters across all its operational areas.
Under the first MoU, MCL will provide Rs 4.50 crore for the construction of electrified classrooms at Brajrajnagar College and rejuvenation and beautification of the Khaliakani Pond in Brajrajnagar which includes jetty construction, pathway development, and landscaping.
This includes two underground mines (Hirakhand-Bundia and Orient Colliery Mine Nos. 1&2), and six opencast mines (Kulda, Ananta, Samleshwari, Bhubaneswari, Lajkura, Belpahar, and Gopalji-Kaniha Expansion project).
These students were presented their offer letters during a convocation ceremony held at NITCON foundation, Angul centre.
The company achieved this milestone on Thursday, with a record 16 days ahead of the last fiscal year, said the company officials on Friday.
