The announcement follows a meeting held on Tuesday with various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and civil organizations, and comes after a formal request from Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva.
"Given the severity of this issue and the fact that this might be happening in many wards across Delhi, Commissioner (MCD) is directed to share his responses to the following questions within two days, i.e. by 5pm on Thursday, 26th September," Mayor's communication to the MCD official read.
He said the people lost their lives due to waterlogging, electric shocks, and building collapse for which the civic authorities are directly responsible. Therefore, the mayor should resign from his post taking moral responsibility, he added.
