Dismissing the opposition AIADMK’s demand for a white paper on flood preparedness in the wake of the recent torrential downpour, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday said the state government is ready to face any rain-related exigency in future.
The Delhi chief minister along with Punjab CM Mann called on Stalin at his residence in Alwarpet in Chennai. AAP MP Raghav Chadha and DMK parliamentary party leader and former Union Minister TR Baalu were also present during the meeting.
The governor's move came in the wake of DMK allies, the VCK, the Left parties, and the Congress, shouted slogans against the recent comments made by the governor and ‘Long Live Tamil Nadu’ and ‘Aaalunare Veliyeru’
These regional chieftains have a proprietorial hold over their strong vote bank. The BJP plans to either decimate them or join them as their ally.
Chief Minister M K Stalin has inaugurated a scheme 'Meendum Manjappai' aimed at reducing the use of plastic bags and promoting cloth bags.
The government said it would encourage singing of the anthem in private functions as well.
"Hence, these roads need immediate improvements to fulfill the needs of the road users," Stalin said.
The team submitted its report to Stalin on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister is likely to hold the meeting in Chennai physically and the general administration department has commenced preparations for the same.
