He said the law and order situation is worse in the city with a 45 per cent rise in crimes against women and a 41 per cent rise in crimes against children.
Adhir came down heavily on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying law and order in Bengal has spiralled further south and the Malda incident is the latest illustration of the same.
The Home Ministry has also sought a report from the Bengal government over the ‘sponsored violence’ after BJP chief’s Nadda’s convoy was attacked with bricks, stones and stick near Kolkata.
