Over 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country are offering medicines at 50-90 per cent lower prices daily, said Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Jan Aushadhi Diwas on Friday.
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda kicked off the week-long celebrations of Jan Aushadhi Diwas by flagging off vehicles carrying the information about Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) from Nirman Bhawan here on Saturday.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the interaction will be followed by the address of the Prime Minister on the occasion.
Modi said the demand for 'Made in India' medicines have been increasing and the government is planning to provide 75 Ayush medicines on 'Janaushadhi' centres so that maximum number of people can be benefited as soon as possible and the money they were spending on costly medicines could be lowered down.
Modi government has been providing quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses under PMBJP.
