The Prime Minister said leaders in the Netherlands often praised the Indian community, calling their contribution to Dutch society a matter of pride for India.
PM Modi began the Netherlands leg of his five-nation tour with diaspora outreach and meetings lined up with Dutch leadership on trade, technology and strategic cooperation.
The PMO said Modi discussed the latest developments with the Sultan of Oman and the Crown Prince of Kuwait.
With the Opposition questioning the Modi government’s stand on the ongoing crisis in West Asia, India on Tuesday reiterated its call for dialogue and diplomacy and strongly raised its voice in favour of an early end to the conflict.
In his statement, Gandhi highlighted the uncertainty faced by millions, including nearly 10 million Indians, living in the Gulf and the Middle East amid the rising tensions.
He noted that Malaysia has the second largest Indian origin community in the world, serving as a “living bridge” between the two countries.
He further underlined that the government has taken numerous steps to bring the diaspora even closer to India.
"Clearly today, intergovernmental agreements dealing with mobility are a very important part of our diplomacy. We have 21 such agreements in addition to which we have mobility provisions in some of the free trade agreements that we have done," Jaishankar said in his address at India’s World Annual Conclave 2025.
“It was wonderful to meet German Chancellor Mr. Friedrich Merz. India’s ties with Germany are robust, especially in areas such as trade, technology, innovation, and more,” PM Modi said in a post on X, highlighting the positive outcome of the meeting.
