The West Bengal government has appointed senior IAS officer Dr Krishna Gupta as the next State Election Commissioner. Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Co-operation Department, he will assume charge after retiring on June 30, according to an official notification published in the Kolkata Gazette.
