Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, stating that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state has been pushed into a situation from which recovery appears extremely difficult.
Providing more information about the carnival, Shimla Mayor Surinder Chauhan stated that the intention behind this initiative is to "attract more and more tourists" to the state.
The party stated that the state is heading toward a severe economic crisis, with government debt now exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore.

State Chief Secretary RD Dhiman said 278 lives were lost in incidents like flash floods, cloud bursts, landslides, and house collapses while 522 people were injured and nine people are missing. Damage to property was estimated at Rs 1,981.86 crore.
The Chief Minister met the affected families and assured them all the possible help. He also directed the authorities concerned to provide them with every essential daily need item.
Director of the Ministry of Energy, Harikesh Meena signed the agreement on behalf of the state government while NHPC General Manager (Power) Suresh Kumar and Secretary of BBMB Satish Kumar Singla were the signatory on behalf of their respective enterprises.
