The CAQM, in view of the forecasts for meteorological conditions and air quality index made available by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), respectively, has taken a call on the preventive, restrictive measures under stage II of GRAP, invoked in the entire NCR on October 19 last year.
The decision comes to counter the situation of air pollution in the national capital, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) level at 324 at 7 pm.
The CAQM conducted an inspection drive in Faridabad on Tuesday to assess road dust mitigation measures and the upkeep of road stretches maintained by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF), as part of its intensified enforcement under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
The inspection was conducted on Monday by flying squad teams across major NDMC jurisdictions covering Circle–6, Circle–11 and Circle–14.
“Private offices are requested to widely communicate these protocols and ensure prompt, effective implementation in all subsidiary and branch locations,” the Environment Department said in a statement.
