General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, laid a wreath at the Amar Chakra of the National War Memorial, honouring the courage and supreme sacrifice of Infantry soldiers, who laid down their lives in the service of the Nation.
A statement from the Army spokesperson stated that Mohanlal’s dedication was notably visible during his voluntary contribution to relief efforts during the Wayanad Natural Disaster in August 2024.
Addressing the gathering at the war memorial, the COAS said he felt extremely proud and emotional standing on the sacred battlefield of Dras, where India’s brave soldiers made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation.

This initiative aligns with the Indian Army propelling itself into the “Decade of Transformation” as envisioned by the COAS and also with the Indian Army’s theme for 2024 as the “Year of Technology Absorption.”
