While preparing its reply to the Bengal government’s charges of 'man-made' flood by releasing flood water without informing the state, the Damodar Valley Corporation dams intends to go for further enhanced discharge to create space for more water inflow from the upper catchment areas.
According to officials hundreds of villagers of Gram Panchayat Chahalwa of Mihinpurwa tehsil had gone to the island of Saryu river for agricultural work on Friday evening.
Around 250 villagers of Raini Samdaha village of Dhaurhara tehsil got trapped in the foothills of Sharda river. When the administration came to know about this, it started rescuing the villagers surrounded by flood waters.
It was split wide open for the residents of Greater Noida when they witnessed the flood water gushing into their parking area. Thousands of parked vehicles have been under water for the past three days.
The Central agencies are working on a war-footing together with Delhi government and MCD to clear the area of flood water from overflowing Yamuna.
