The National Conference and the Congress are members of the opposition’s INDIA bloc and are unitedly contesting the Lok Sabha elections on the five seats of J&K and the lone seat of Ladakh.
He said the constitution of the country and democratic institutions are under a threat and it is our collective responsibility to protect them.
“As far as India is concerned, it is a united India,” he added.
He said this while interacting with media persons at Srinagar railway station from where he traveled to Sangaldan in the train that was virtually flagged off by PM Narendra Modi from a function in Jammu.
Abdullah said that the train launch will help boost tourism and congratulated PM Modi and Railways.
At an all-party meeting at Dr Farooq Abdullah’s residence in Srinagar, the Opposition parties agreed to formulate a joint strategy against the move of the Election Commission.
On Monday an all-party meeting was held at National Conference (NC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah's residence in Srinagar over the "registration of new voters in Jammu and Kashmir. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti was also present for the meeting.
The clarification comes ahead of an all-party meeting that has been convened by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, MP and the chief of National Conference chief, in Srinagar on Monday to formulate a joint strategy against the move to include ‘non-locals’ in the electoral rolls.
Srinagar Police tweeted: “There are additional police personnel deployed on certain places along the Gupkar Road in view of certain security related inputs.”
The ED tweeted, “ED has filed a Supplementary PC under PMLA, 2002 before the Spl. PMLA Court, Srinagar against Dr. Farooq Abdullah & others on 4/6/2022. The court has taken cognizance of the complaint and issued notices to the accused persons for appearance before the court on 27 August.
