Announcing a shift in the assessment of Class 12 Board examination papers, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday notified the introduction of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Following massive backlash over the alleged removal of Punjabi as a language option in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) draft scheme for the biannual exam format for Class 10, the board has issued a clarification, reassuring that the language will continue to be offered.
In a late evening statement issued by the president, ad hoc committee of WBBSE stated: “With regard to the maths question paper of Madhyamik, the subject experts have evaluated and found the questions to be within syllabus, balanced and in order.
To conduct the examination, around 3500 exam centres in India and abroad have been set up in which around 10.64 lakh women will appear for the NEET 2022 examination.
While the overall pass percentage this year is 73.18 per cent, girls yet again outshone boys with their pass percentage of 76.26 per cent as against the boys’ 70.50 per cent, an official spokesperson said. Even more, out of the nine students who stood first, second and third place, eight are girls.
Highlighting the delay in All India Quota counselling for the exam, the IMA underlined that the difference between the NEET-PG 2022 exam date and the completion of 2021 counselling is too short for an aspirant to prepare and appear for such an extremely difficult exam like it.
It is pertinent to note here that amid deadly surge of COVID-19 infections, the BSE, Odisha had earlier cancelled the Class 10 (Matric) examination last year. The students were awarded marks based on their performances in the Class IX and pre-board examinations.
At the outset, the bench said, "We cannot start postponing exams like this, everything is opening up now. We cannot play with the careers of the students like this. One of the petitioners before us is a coaching centre".
