In a pivotal cabinet session chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the decision to enact this reservation policy took shape.
The DMK’s move was followed by an all-party meeting held by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on the issue.
DMK, in the petition, said the top court has committed an error apparent on the face of the record by holding that abolition of reservations.

According to the order, the gross annual family income should be below Rs 8 lakh to be eligible for EWS reservation, including from all sources of income such as salary, agriculture, business, profession and others prior to the year of application.
