Oberoi, while talking to a news agency, said that ECI approval is awaited, and a necessary file has been sent to the ECI and also to the Lieutenant Governor for the nod regarding the presiding officer.
The BJP, which has demanded repoll in some seats had lodged as many as 303 complaints.

Displaying any election matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for conclusion of poll in the respective polling areas, the public notice read.
The petition had also point out that the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party, in 2019 general election, offered cash to certain sections of the society. The Congress had announced Nyuntam aay Yogyna -- NYAY scheme. The high court issued notice to both these parties.
Banerjee who was the TMC candidate from Nandigram faced similar objections from the then BJP candidate who had objected that Banerjee had not mentioned six cases pending against her. Of the six cases five are the same cases mentioned by Ghosh in his complaint.
"During Banerjee's meeting with the puja committees on Tuesday, no organiser from Bhowanipur or Murshidabad was invited. So, the question of giving money to them doesn't arise,"
What led to the outbreak of the criticism was the notification by the EC which said that while the Commission has decided not to hold by-polls in other 31 assembly constituencies in the country, it would do so only for Bhabanipur AC, considering a "special request" from the West Bengal government.
