Religion in crisis

Organised religion is indeed retreating from public into private space. Spirituality and toxicity are the two sides of the coin named religion. While in the public space, in the name of spirituality, it often spreads toxicity and hatred against other faiths, in the private space, especially in uneasy times like this, it plays a benign role by bringing peace and solace to stressed individuals and families.

The Lonely Pilgrim

The shrines are a “source of comfort and orientation” in the face of the worst catastrophe in centuries. Over Good Friday and Easter, however, churches were unable to provide a space of refuge for solace in the midst of overwhelming gloom and doom.
