The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), backed by Delhi Police and paramilitary forces, carried out a major anti-encroachment drive on Monday in Taimoor Nagar, South Delhi. The operation targeted illegal constructions along a drain, following directives from the Delhi High Court.
The Lieutenant Governor’s (LG) Secretariat has instructed the Chief Secretary to organize special camps through the relevant departments to raise awareness and facilitate access to the recently announced ‘Sasta Ghar’ housing scheme by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena Wednesday directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to start the process of surveying and selecting sites for installation of ropeways/cableways that would carry passengers in cable cars across the Yamuna.

The ministry has also handed over the Dilli Chalo, Ghata Masjid, Urdu Academy and Sadbhavna Parks behind the Red Fort and the Walled City for rejuvenation and redevelopment to DDA. The tenders for redevelopment projects of these parks are in advance stages.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has allotted 181 acre land to seven different government universities and institutions of the city for development of their campuses in Narela sub-city.

Saxena said the Rs. 800-crore fund for village development in Delhi, which was never utilised in the past years, will now be used for development of these villages.
