Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday met the Dalai Lama in the national capital to enquire about the 90-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader's health following his recent knee replacement surgery.
Leh is gearing up to welcome the Dalai Lama later this month, with district authorities reviewing elaborate security, traffic, medical and logistical arrangements ahead of his June 28 arrival.

Traffic restrictions around the teaching ground were ordered by the Ladakh administration.
During a pilgrim’s visit to the Jokhang Temple in Leh, the Tibetan spiritual leader lamented that in today’s world we too often see prejudice and divisiveness arising between our religious traditions.
The Tibetan spiritual leader said this as he felt the mindset of China towards him is gradually changing.
In his letter to the Himachal chief minister, the Lama said that he was "deeply saddened to learn of the torrential rains that have triggered floods and landslides resulting in the tragic death of many people ".
