He also claimed that Trinamul Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee had a secret understanding with the BJP and she wouldn't be able to fight it.
“In UP, fascist forces are running the government. Similar situation is also being created in the other states also. In West Bengal TMC-led government failed to tackle the fascist forces. And the reason is behind it that the TMC itself destroyed democracy of the state and has been trying to uproot the Opposition from the state,” he said.
CPI-M politburo member and former MP Muhammad Salim said that the union government must recognise the citizens of the country otherwise how long would the people tolerate the government’s misrule.
Partha Chatterjee, the Trinamul Congress general secretary said, “Mamata Banerjee had said earlier that as the CPI-M and Congress were indulging in a nasty politics over bandh and maintaining a double standard in the state, it was not possible for her to ally with them and hence kept herself out of today’s meeting as a mark of protest against their attitude."
While PCC chief Somen Mitra said the Prime Minister and the chief minister had a prior understanding, senior CPI-M leader Sujan Chakraborty felt that the chief minister ought to share with the people what she discussed with the Prime Minister.
