The minister gave directions to the civic body agencies as he inspected several garbage hotspots in the Hari Nagar Assembly Constituency, thereby strengthening the government’s efforts to keep the city clean.
The Special Campaign aimed at promoting cleanliness, streamlining work, and addressing pending grievances across the Ministry and its Autonomous Bodies.
Apart from cleanliness activities, considerable effort was made to reduce pendency in public grievances, MP, PMO & state government references, appeals, and parliamentary assurances.
During the campaign carried out at 5,377 locations, several milestones have been achieved. Cantonments promoted the principles of "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” as part of their commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation.
The Railway Board, led by the Chairman and CEO, Railway Board, Satish Kumar, along with other senior officers, is closely monitoring the preparations to ensure the campaign's effectiveness, it said.
Starting on 17th September and culminating on 2nd October under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Mission, the campaign will mobilize millions across the nation in a collective call to action for high-impact ‘swachhata’ drives.
After removing waste, he addressed volunteers and said, “A clean Delhi is a shared responsibility between the government and the community. Let us make cleanliness a daily habit and give our capital a new identity—clean, healthy, and prosperous.”
According to officials, city residents were given the message of cleanliness through musical and cultural performances based on the theme ‘From Heart to Heart, a Melodious Message of Cleanliness’.
Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet minister stated that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has taken the form of a people’s movement across the country. “The people of Delhi are also giving new direction to this movement by keeping their surroundings free from filth and garbage,” he said.
