Reacting to MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s claim that the poll panel is using markers instead of indelible ink, Fadnavis said, “I have also been marked with a marker, is it erasing?”
Bhai Jagtap is known as a loyal leader of the Congress for many years besides being a former president of the Mumbai Congress.

There was a serious discussion about an alliance with the Raj Thackeray-led MNS and Uddhav Thackeray told Shiv Sainiks to start preparing for the forthcoming municipal elections by hinting at an alliance.

Notably, some former councilors like Nikhil Sahani, Durga Singh, Satyajit Adhikari, Rabi Roy and Chandrani Mondal were denied party tickets this time around. As a result, discontent has grown in the party, party sources said.
Trinamul leaders are concerned about both Asansol Municipal Corporations (AMC) and Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). In last SMC poll, Left Front formed the board and Mr Asoke Bhattacharya was the Mayor. But in this year’s Assembly poll, CPIM candidate Asoke Bhattacharya was defeated by BJP. So Trinamul has now two opponents in SMC -BJP and CPI-M.
The focus would be on whether Firhad Hakim, chairman of the KMC board of administrators, Atin Ghosh, Debashish Kumar and Debabrata Majumdar, all councillors and board members would be considered for re-nomination for the 19 December polls.
SEC sources said that the state poll panel was now in the process of seeking consultation of the lawyers to veer round the fact whether there could be any possibility to hold polls to Kolkata Municipal Corporation alone as per schedule.
