No progress at India-China border talks

India and China failed to make headway in resolving their protracted military stand-off at eastern Ladakh at the 29th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) held in Beijing on Wednesday.

If China becomes adventurous and militarily attacks Taiwan, the US most likely would intervene as broader geopolitical considerations are involved. If such a situation unfolds it would cause incalculable damage to China’s military, economy and civilian infrastructure, and result in China’s total isolation from the global economy and international organisations. So, China would have nothing to gain but everything to lose.

Canada joins list of countries imposing COVID rules on China arrivals

Canada becomes the latest country to join the list of countries who have made the Covid-19 test mandatory for flyers coming from mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau, because of a surge in COVID-19 infections after the country rolled back its stringent "zero-Covid" policy.
