Senior IPS officer MR Ajithkumar, who was recently removed from the post of Excise Commissioner following a ruling by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO).
The CAT ordered Ashok to continue as the principal secretary (Agriculture) and agricultural production commissioner, and said detailed arguments in his petition would be heard later.
Dr. Ashok argued that, since he was being appointed to a post carrying a pay scale lower than that of his cadre post, the order violated the All India Service (Cadre) Rules.

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Ernakulam Bench, on Friday ordered IAS officer B Ashok to continue as principal secretary to the Government (Agriculture) and as Agricultural Production Commissioner in Kerala government.
A bench of Justice Yogesh Khanna on Monday listed the matter for January 24 (Monday) for the next hearing. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta represented the Centre and said that the tribunal has an exclusive power to transfer the case from one bench to another, arguing that there is no prejudice in the matter.
"Alapan Bandyopadhyay has followed the explicit and specific directions of his immediate superior authority, the Chief Minister." said an official.
Last date for submission of form to all IITs: January 31, 2021.
