Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a brace in his team’s 3-1 win against PSG and passed the 100-goal mark for Real Madrid in the Champions League, said that though scoring in a win was special for him, the tie wasn’t over yet.

“Scoring and having the team win is special. I scored twice and helped towards the win but the tie is not over. We need to win in Paris and score goals to progress,” said Ronaldo, according to www.realmadrid.com.

Terming it to be an important victory for his team, Ronaldo said, “We started well but they scored. The Champions League is like that. Real Madrid have the experience, the game is 90 minutes and we wanted a good result at home. We have an advantage for the next leg.”

“We wanted to score before the break but knew PSG would be dangerous, they have good forwards. We knew we needed to pressure them to get the ball back. In the second half we expected it, we got more chances and scored two goals,” said Ronaldo, who reached the 101-mark with his double against PSG after playing 95 games for the club in the top continental competition.

In all praise for Marcelo Vieira, the star striker said that his goal was the key and he played spectacularly.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid coach Sergio Rams said that his team put in a spectacular performance and deserved the win. “It’s a vital win. This was one of the Champions League which I’ll remember throughout my career and the way we won is important for the return leg. We must continue on in this way and defend our Champions League title. We did brilliantly.”

“This is no time to dwell on things and this team, despite conceding a goal, looked for that win with real integrity against a focussed side. Despite what we all say, Real Madrid can never be written off,” he added.
