The three-match T20 International series between India and Australia kick-started today at the Gabba in Brisbane. A confident India led by Virat Kohli are favourites to win the ongoing T20I tournament Down Under.

However, other than the contest between India and Australia, the top two Men-in-Blue batsmen, skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma, are also locked in a fierce battle to top the T20I table in men’s cricket.

On Wednesday, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will have an opportunity to become the highest run scorer in the shortest format of the game.

Currently, New Zealand’s Martin Guptill is the leading run scorer with 2271 runs from 75 matches with the help of two hundreds and 14 fifties. The second spot on the list is reserved by Rohit Sharma followed by Virat Kohli.

While Rohit Sharma is just 64 runs behind Guptill, Virat Kohli needs 169 more runs to his credit to become the leading run-getter in T20Is.

Meanwhile, in the series opener at Gabba, Virat Kohli has invited Aaron Finch-led Australia to bat first after winning the toss.
