In the wake of Rajput Karni Sena announcing that they won’t let Prasoon Joshi enter Rajasthan, the state’s Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria on Sunday said that adequate security will be provided to the CBFC chief who is scheduled to visit the state for the Jaipur Lit Fest which begins on January 25.

“We will provide all protection he (Joshi) needs from us. It is our duty to maintain law and order,” Kataria said on Sunday reacting to Karni Sena’s threats.

On Friday, the Karni Sena had slammed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief for giving the go ahead to controversial film ‘Padmaavat’ and said that they won’t let Joshi enter Rajasthan or take part in the Lit Fest.

The group also vowed to not let Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of ‘Padmaavat’ to ever shoot in Rajasthan again.

The CBFC had on December 30, 2017 given Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ a UA certificate and suggested the director to change the film’s title to ‘Padmaavat’.

Interestingly, the release date of the film clashes with the inaugural session of the prominent Lit Fest as well.

The 11th edition of ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival 2018, touted as one of the biggest literary shows across the globe will host over 250 writers, thinkers, politicians, journalists and cultural icons from over 35 different nationalities at the Diggi Palace Hotel in Jaipur.

The festival will feature a line-up of speakers who have won major awards including the Nobel, Man Booker, Pulitzer, Padma Vibhusan and the Sahitya Akademi Award. They will representing over 15 Indian and more than 20 international languages.

The literary extravaganza will come to an end on January 29.
