A delegation of villagers led by senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon on Wednesday met UT Administrator and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to raise several long-pending issues of the residents of villages falling outside the Lal Dora limits in Chandigarh.
The Governor distanced himself from the political crossfire, stating that while he does not represent any political party, he believes that engaging in a blame game yields no benefits.
The decision came as a significant relief to the traditional village functionaries whose demand for revision of wages had been pending for several years.
Describing the decision as a significant pro-people step, Tandon said it has been a long-pending demand of thousands of residents living in CHB housing units across the city.
