As the announcement of poll dates for 2024 general elections draws closer Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for developmental schemes worth more than Rs 8,200 crore.

Different projects, including Rs 1,048-crore schemes belonging to 11 departments and laying the foundation stones for Rs 7,227.4 -crore schemes of 15 other departments were launched online. Dhami also laid the foundation stone for Rs 2028-crore prepaid power meter scheme and distributed toolkits to the workers registered with Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Apart from these, the chief minister handed out work allocation orders of solar projects to the different firms and beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Solar Swarozgar Yojana.

Later, addressing the people online, CM Dhami said, “Aim of our government is to bring up Uttarakhand as the best state in the country. Today’s program is an example of our progress for developmental works worth more than ₹ 8000 crore were implemented via inauguration and laying of foundation stone. These projects will prove vital in making Uttarakhand a leading state of the country.”

“Our government is working towards all-round development of the state. In the last two months alone, schemes worth more than Rs 18,000 crore were either inaugurated or foundation stones were laid. These works are self-evident as to our efforts to make Uttarakhand a leading state in the country,” he added.

The chief minister emphasised that his government aims at doubling Uttarakhand’s GSDP in the next five years. An action plan is being readied to finalise the path of best practices and innovations by 2025 in order to achieve the goal of doubling the GSDP.

“Today, India is scripting an unprecedented tale of development in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The difference between India before 2014 and today’s India is clearly evident. The PM started welfare schemes for every section of the society and he is continuously working for every class and region, from farmer to soldier and city to village, to make India a developed country,” said Dhami.
