‘Har Ghar Jal well on course’
Uttar Pradesh Jalshakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh holds considerable clout in the Bundelkhand region of the state. He is also the main force behind Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream ‘Har Ghar Jal’ project.
Voting will take place on 30 January, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon.
Altogether 63 candidates are in the fray for the biennial polls to 3 graduate and 2 teachers constituencies of the Uttar Pradesh legislative Council, where polling will take place on 30 January.
According to the Election Commission of India, 75 candidates filed their nominations for the 5 seats and 7 papers were rejected during scrutiny and 5 others have withdrawn their nominations.
Highest number of 24 candidates are in the fray for the Gorakhpur-Faizabad graduate constituency, while Kanpur, Bareilly-Moradabad graduate and Allahabad-Jhansi teachers seats have 10 candidates each. Kanpur teachers seat have 9 candidates in the fray.

Voting will take place on 30 January, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. The counting will be conducted on all the seats on February 2.
