Lok Sabha elections 2024 Phase Two: Voting underway in 88 seats across 13 states
The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are being held in seven phases till June 1 and votes will be counted on June 4.
In a tragic incident, a Russian tourist drowned in the sea at Vettakada beach in Varkala near Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Anzhelika Wtenhet(52). Locals said that Anzhelika was swept away by strong waves while bathing in the sea with a friend, who is also from Russia. Though fishermen and surfers in the area managed to pull Anzhelika out of the sea and rushed her to the Varkala Taluk Hospital, she could not be saved.
Her body is being kept at the mortuary of the Varkala Taluk Hospital. The Ayiroor Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
