The National War Memorial was dedicated by the PM of India on 25 Feb 19 to all Martyrs of the Armed Forces of India who have made supreme sacrifice post-India’sindependence in various conflicts, CI/ CT operations, UN Peacekeeping operations and Humanitarian operations.

Present on the occasion was Alka Ahuja, wife of late Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja who made supreme sacrifice on 27 May 1999 during ‘Op Safed Sagar’ and was posthumously awarded Vir Chakra and Ashrad Bibi wife of Late Subedar Mohd Shafi who made supreme sacrifice during ‘Op Rakshak’ in J&K on 01 Jun 2000.
