Ex UP Congress president get 1 yr imprisonment in a defamation case

Former Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu has been punished by the MPMLA court of awarding one-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.
The MPMLA court of additional chief judicial Magistrate Ambrish Kumar Srivastava has sentenced in a defamation case filed by former UP Minister Srikant Sharma. The punishment was given under Section 500 of the IPC.
In November 2019, the then UP power minister Shrikant Sharma filed a complaint against the former UP Congress president.
