BJP trying to bring down Kamal Nath government, claims BSP MLA

“They (BJP) are making offers to everyone, only fools will come under their influence. I get phone calls offering both minister berth and money but I have denied the offers. They are offering Rs 50-60 crore to a number of people,” said Ramabai.

In a sensational claim, Ramabai, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Madhya Pradesh, on Monday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to bring down the Kamal Nath led Congress government in the state by offering ministerial berths and huge amounts of money to the state legislatures.

Ramabai also claimed that she too has been offered lucrative perks by the BJP to withdraw support from the state government but she denied the offers.

“It is false speculation that legislators are breaking away,” said Ramabai as quoted by ANI.

She affirmed that the Congress government is neither in trouble nor collapsing.

“Money is not everything in life, we have to see right and wrong and the fact is BJP is wrong. Ministerial berth and money are not important to me. It is important that Kamal Nath government stays,” said the MLA from Pathariya assembly constituency.

Blaming the EVMs for the poor showing of BSP in Madhya Pradesh in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Ramabai said, “This is all EVM’s fault. After coming to politics I have realised this is a very bad thing.”

Congress too suffered a big defeat in Madhya Pradesh as it lost 28 of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The party could win only Chhindwara parliamentary constituency.

In Madhya Pradesh, BSP is in alliance with Congress, with two lawmakers including Ramabai extending their support to the Kamal Nath-led government.
