Despite the approaching summer, top stars such as Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut and Ali Fazal made New Delhi their home for shooting since it serves as a perfect location for many films, television shows and web series.

Deepika Padukone’s photographs in the character of an acid attack survivor in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak were appreciated on social media.

The actor, who plays Laxmi Agarwal, was last week spotted shooting on the streets in Janpath with co-actor Vikrant Massey as part of the first schedule. According to Delhi Police, the shoot will now shift to Shankar Market and then to Vijay Chowk later this week.

Kangana Ranaut who will be seen alongside Richa Chadha in Panga was also spotted in the capital. She has been in Delhi for the past nine days shooting for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s film on Kabaddi at places such as Miranda House, Lady Irwin College and Yamuna Sports Complex.

The team, which also includes Punjabi actor-singer Jassi Gill, will wrap its Delhi schedule on Tuesday post a shoot inside the Ritz Cinema in Kashmere Gate before heading to Kolkata, a source from Fox’s production team told IANS.

Another ongoing shoot in Delhi is for a project titled House Arrest, starring Ali Fazal. The shoot is currently in works in a South Delhi house. The project reportedly is for a leading streaming platform.

Only last month, acclaimed director Imtiaz Ali was in Delhi to shoot for the sequel of Love Aaj Kal. Starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, Love Aaj Kal 2 was also shot in some parts of Gurugram.

There have also been reports that parts of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming action multi-starrer RRR will also be shot in Delhi. The film will mark Alia Bhatta and Ajay Devgan’s Telugu debut.

Recently, the shoot of ZEE5’s film 377 Ab Normal, featuring actor Maanvi Gagroo also took place in Delhi. In February, the team of Netflix’s Leila starring Huma Quershi was also spotted shooting in Greater Noida.
