Akshay Kumar’s ‘Pad Man’ inspires girls to create a Pad Bank

Akshay Kumar-starrer film PadMan that revolves around Arunachalam Muruganantha, a resident of Coimbatore, who proved to be a real-life superhero and invented the machine to produce sanitary pads at a low cost. The actor has not only impress everyone with the film but also motivated two girls to start a ‘Pad bank’.

According to a report in Rajasthan Patrika, two students of class 11 from Jaipur, Purvi Mittal, and Suhani Mittal started a ‘Pad bank’ to help those women who cannot afford to buy sanitary pads. Both the girls have set up 10 collection points where the contributors can deposit the sanitary napkins. The concept is to deposit the sanitary pads every time you buy a packet. They have influenced 500 other women to join in the initiative. Anyone who cannot afford to buy sanitary napkins can avail it from these pad banks.

This initiative impressed the actor of Pad Man, he took to Twitter to share the news. He wrote, ‘Best news of the day.’
